The Helio Ring is Amazfit’s answer to Oura, and the pitch is easy to understand. No subscription. That alone puts it in a different conversation than the Oura Ring, where the monthly fee adds up and never stops.
What you actually get
Titanium alloy on the outside, plastic on the inside. It’s 2.6mm thick and weighs about 4 grams, light enough that you stop noticing it after the first day or so. Rated 10 ATM, so showering and swimming are fine.
The sensor stack covers heart rate, SpO2, HRV and skin temperature. There’s also an EDA sensor reading stress response, which you dont usually see at this price. Amazfit rolls all of it into a readiness number called BioCharge, built from resting heart rate, HRV, breathing rate and sleep quality.
Battery life is oversold
Amazfit claims four days. Thats only true if you switch off the automatic health measurements, which is the entire reason you bought a smart ring in the first place. Leave everything running and youre looking at roughly two and a half days. Not terrible. Just plan on charging twice a week and dont believe the box.
Sizing is the real catch
Three sizes. Eight, ten, twelve, and thats it. Oura ships a dozen. If your finger lands between sizes you’re stuck, so order the sizing kit before you commit to anything.
At $199
It launched at $299 and has settled at $199 for good. That price with no subscription makes it a strong pick if you mostly want sleep and recovery numbers and dont need the deeper analysis Oura layers on top. The app is simpler. Some people will read that as a downside, I think its fine for most people who just want a score in the morning and a nudge about training hard or backing off.
Skip it if you need a precise fit or you like digging through detailed sleep staging. Buy it if you want a light ring that tracks recovery and never asks for your card again.
