Recover Stack Review ProcessResearched from specs and verified owner reviews

Black Friday lands on November 27 this year, and recovery gear is one of the safer things to buy on a deal (nobody returns a foam roller for being the wrong size). Here are 7 picks to watch, from a $29 roller to a $326 Theragun.
None of the Black Friday pricing is live yet. The prices below are what the Amazon listings showed on October 20, so treat them as the number to beat. If one of these drops under its price here, that’s your cue.
A quick note on how this list was built. We haven’t had these on our own bench, so there are no testing claims anywhere on this page. Picks come from the live listings, the manufacturer specs and the rating counts, and everything here sits at 4.3 stars or better with at least 1,800 ratings.

Most massage guns make you pick a lane. This one has 4 heat levels up to 113°F and 4 cold levels down to 46°F, so you can warm up before a session and cool things down after with the same tool. RENPHO lists 45 lbs of stall force and a 40 dB motor, which reads well for the price. 30,000+ ratings at 4.5 stars is a big sample for a gun with heat and cold built in.

TOLOCO lists 3200 RPM with a 12mm stroke and up to 6 hours per charge over USB (the wall plug isn’t in the box, which catches people out). It’s a fine first massage gun or a bigger stocking gift. The motor and body won’t match the premium guns further down this list, and that gap is what the extra money buys.

The GRID uses multi density zones (TriggerPoint calls them Distrodensity), so one roller handles both a sore quad and a tight IT band. It’s 13 inches long, which fits in a gym bag. 4.7 stars across 23,000+ ratings is the best average in this guide.

Chirp’s 6 inch wheel is aimed at the back, neck and shoulders, and the listing pitches it as a step up from a basic foam roller. Anyone who sits all day will probably use it. There’s a longer writeup of the bigger Chirp Wheel+ if you want to compare.
Air compression for feet and calves, with 2 modes and 3 intensity levels. The listing is upfront that there’s no heat function and no thigh coverage, which saves you from buying the wrong thing for a runner who wants full boots. At around $72 it’s the entry price for this kind of gift, and 20,000+ ratings at 4.3 says plenty of people were happy enough.
Gentlest TheragunSimple controlsNeck and shoulders
Therabody calls this its gentlest level of percussive massage. Skip it if you want something to hammer a quad. It’s for someone who’d reach for a massage gun on a stiff neck after a desk day and doesn’t want a menu of settings. $158 is steep for the spec, so you’re mostly paying for the brand. Our Theragun Mini review covers the smaller one.
Therabody calls the Prime its most powerful deep tissue gun, and the listing says the TPU rubber body and reinforced corners handle drops up to 10 feet (*per Therabody). It has 6,800+ ratings at 4.6. It’s also $326, which is a lot to spend on something you haven’t felt in hand, so this is the one most worth waiting on to see if Black Friday moves it.
