Best Ice Bath Tubs Under $150 in 2026: 4 We Actually Tested

Cold plunging got really popular really fast, and now there are dozens of inflatable ice bath tubs on Amazon. Most of them look identical. A few of them are actually good. We tested four that come in under $150 and ranked them based on how well they hold cold water, how easy they are to set up, and whether they’ll last longer than a couple months.

Quick note: none of these are electric chillers. Theyre all manual fill tubs that you add ice to yourself. If you want a powered chiller, thats a different price bracket entirely.

1

The Cold Pod Ice Bath Tub

Best Overall Value
~75 gal
Capacity
5 layers
Insulation
~5 min
Setup Time
~$65
Price
Budget Friendly Good Insulation Portable
The Cold Pod hits the sweet spot between price and performance. Five layer insulation actually keeps the water cold for a reasonable amount of time, and the whole thing folds down small enough to store in a closet. Its not fancy, but its the one we’d recommend to anyone starting out with cold plunging. The drain valve works well and it held up after multiple weeks of regular use without any leaking. At around $65 its kind of hard to argue against it.
2

Recoverex Cold Plunge Tub

Fastest Setup, Foldable Design
~80 gal
Capacity
Foldable
Design
~3 min
Setup Time
~$90
Price
Foldable Quick Setup
The Recoverex stands out because of its rigid foldable frame. You pop it open like a camping chair, no inflation needed. That makes setup genuinely fast compared to every inflatable option. The trade off is slightly less insulation than the Cold Pod, so you’ll burn through ice a bit faster. But if convenience matters most to you, this ones hard to beat. Folds flat for storage which is a real advantage in small apartments.
3

PolarWaves Inflatable Ice Bath

Best Insulation at This Price
~85 gal
Capacity
6 layers
Insulation
~8 min
Setup Time
~$130
Price
Premium Feel Best Insulation
PolarWaves has the thickest insulation in this group at 6 layers, and you can tell. Water stays cold noticeably longer than the cheaper options. The build quality also feels a step above, with reinforced stitching and a sturdier drain. The reason it’s not ranked higher? At $130 its pushing the budget ceiling, and the inflation process takes longer than most competitors. If you’re going to use this thing 4 or 5 times a week though the better insulation pays for itself in ice savings alone.

216-Gallon Inflatable Ice Bath Tub

Biggest Capacity for Larger Athletes
216 gal
Capacity
4 layers
Insulation
~10 min
Setup Time
~$100
Price
XL Size Full Submersion
If you’re over 6 feet tall or just want room to actually move around in the water, this is your pick. At 216 gallons its roughly double the capacity of the other tubs here. The downside is obvious, you need way more ice to get it cold and it takes longer to fill and drain. Insulation is decent but not as thick as the PolarWaves. Best for athletes who want full body submersion or for two person use. Just make sure you have somewhere to put it because this thing is big.

How We Picked These

We focused on tubs that cost under $150, hold enough water for an adult to sit in comfortably, and have at least decent insulation. All four of these have been individually reviewed on RecoverStack. If you want the deep dive on any of them, check the full reviews:
