We picked this up mainly because 41,000+ reviews at 4.5 stars is hard to ignore. First thing you notice is the color, the Aurora pattern genuinely looks good sitting in your gym space. Kind of a silly thing to care about but hey, if you’re gonna leave it out, it might as well look decent.
The density is where this roller shines for most people. Its medium firmness which means it actually does something (unlike those super soft rollers that feel like rolling on a pool noodle) but it wont leave you bruised after a session. We used it post leg day on quads, hamstrings, and IT bands for about two weeks straight. The pressure was enough to work through some tightness without being unbearable on sore spots.
Build quality is decent for the price. The EVA foam surface has held up without any compression or deformation so far. Its not going to last as long as something with a hard plastic core like the TriggerPoint GRID, but at under $28 thats a reasonable tradeoff. The smooth surface means less targeted pressure compared to textured rollers, which is actually a plus if you find textured rollers too aggressive.
